I really never had a weightlifting coach till much later in life. I learned by reading, watching, going to meets, and making a LOT of mistakes!! I enjoy coaching because I like to share my knowledge and passion. I hope to make others' journeys easier than mine was!
Like many, I struggled in life with confidence. I was never more than an average athlete or student growing up. As I achieved some success in weightlifting, I gained confidence which carried into all aspects of my life. As an HVAC designer, I've had to present my designs to people that were much smarter than me. When given the opportunity to buy into an engineering company, I jumped in with both feet. The confidence gained on the platform carries over in life!
I have gotten SO much out of weightlifting over the past 40 years. Fun, fitness, strength, confidence, life lessons, and lifelong friendships. My main goal as a coach is to help inspire people so that they might get as much out of weightlifting as I have. I want to continue to learn, never get stagnate, and help spread my knowledge, love, and passion for the sport of weightlifting. I want new athletes to learn correct movement from the start so they don't struggle as much in the beginning as I did.
